Gingham- Spring/Summer 2017

Spring/Summer 2017, Gingham took over the fashion world, from skirts to shirts to dresses, everyone and their grandma wore this fabric trend.

Styling Gingham

Hi guys! I’m back and finally wearing Gingham. When this trend was in full flux, I wanted to style it for the blog but I was tired of the ruffles skirts and wrap shirts that were making the rounds. I wanted to wear it and feel like Vanessa; minimal yet fun.

I finally figured out a way to wear Gingham that I loved, that is affordable and can be reworn in different ways. Drumroll please ; a jumpsuit!

Jumpsuits are extremely versatile and can be taken from casual to extremely sophisticated and high fashion. For this look on the blog I went for a casual, laid back, everyday look.

The jumpsuit I’m wearing came at very little cost, all it cost me was the fabric because I made it myself  ( learning how to sew was the best thing that ever happened to me) .

I took my trend styling a step further by pairing the jumpsuit with the bag of the year, a woven raffia bag and slides.

And that’s how I wear Gingham folks, I cannot wait to wear this jumpsuit again and show it to you . Let me know what you think and if you have worn the gingham trend , how’d you do it. I love reading your comments.

P.S

I actually have worn this trend before, you can read it here.

  1. Girl this outfit is so lush omg! Your bag is from the Arts and Craft place right? How much is it ooo! I love that you sewed a jumpsuit yourself! I haven’t been practicing sewing enough to get to jumpsuit level, so you’re a boss!I just love the simplicity of the look, let’s not even start on your gorgeous skin

    1. Amaka, thanks so much. ‘Lush’ that gives me all kinds of butterflies. The bag was 1000 naira.
