INFLUENCER’S CUT – Ije of Beauty Frenzy Blog.
In order to create fresh and new content, a new post series begins. Influencers cut will be a conversation with various influencers asking their top 5 products, tips etc in their specific niche.
To get things started, we have Ije of Beauty Frenzy Blog. A Nigerian beauty influencer and skin care enthusiast. I asked Ije to provide a list of her top 5 products for clear skin .
IJE’s Top 5 Products for Clear skin.
As someone with oily, acne-prone skin, I have struggled with breakouts on and off since my teenage years.
The best thing you can do to get clear skin is to stick to a good consistent routine that works for you.
I have figured out a routine that works to keep my skin clear, and today I wanted to share my favourite products for clear skin with you.
Simple Cleansing Oil
Double cleansing, like the name implies, is the act of cleansing your face twice. Regular cleansers alone is not enough to properly cleanse your face if you wear makeup. I use an oil based cleanser to dissolve my makeup, before moving on to a foaming cleanser. The Simple Cleansing Oil is a great affordable oil cleanser. It’s the cheapest one I’ve seen so far, and Simple is a brand I trust.
Vichy Normaderm Cleanser.
This is my current go-to foaming cleanser.
It was hard to choose a cleanser for this post, because I have many I love. But this one contains both Glycolic and Salicylic acid. These two ingredients exfoliate your skin and keep breakouts at bay. It’s a little on the pricy side, but absolutely worth it.
Pixi Glow Tonic (or The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner)
In my experience, these two products do pretty much the same thing. Glycolic Acid is a good (relatively) gentle exfoliating acid, and regular exfolation will help keep the skin blemish-free. I much prefer chemical exfolation to physical exfoliation because when done right, it is gentler on the skin.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid
At the root of it, blemishes are caused by excessive production and build up of oil which leads to clogged pores and issues like blackheads, acne, etc. Hyaluronic Acid helps to balance your skin by hydrating it. Skin produces excess oil in response to being dehydrated. Even oily skin can be dehydrated. If you have oily skin, I seriously recommend adding a Hyaluronic Acid product to your regimen.
A treatment.
It was pretty much impossible to choose just one product here. If you have blemish prone skin, your routine should include a treatment to address your blemishes. If the blemishes are not so serious, Salicylic acid is usually a good option. The Ordinary makes one and so does Paula’s Choice. If you have serious acne, Acne.Org Benzoyl Peroxide is a great treatment for acne. It goes beyond what all the usual acids does, and it actually kills the bacteria that causes acne. So if nothing else is working for you, this is something you might want to consider.
So there you have it. These are my top 5 products for keeping skin clear.
